Three Things to Do If You’re Thinking of Moving in the New Year
Let’s be honest, 2020 was a miserable write-off for most of us due to the pandemic. And 2021 has been a slog with the Covid-19 fallout, energy price hikes, and fuel queues that make the lines outside shops during traditional New Year sales look like child’s play.

- Get ready – If your goal is to be in a new home in January or February, get odd jobs around the house sorted, organise your property’s paperwork (guarantees, warranties etc.) and begin decluttering. In our experience, nearly everyone has too much stuff.
- Call in the agents – Call in three estate agents to give you a valuation. Don’t be swayed purely by the highest valuation. Look for a good track record, a clear marketing plan, and listen to your gut instinct.
- Change your mindset – If you’ve made up your mind and are sure you want a new home in the new year, start thinking like a prospective buyer. Ask your friends (especially the ones who always speak their minds) what they think of your home and how you can make it more appealing.
